2015 WSOP Day 8: Colossus and Two Others Crown Champs on an Event-Filled Day

The biggest tournament in live poker history crowned a champion on Day 8 of the 2015 World Series of Poker, with two other bracelet events also doing the same.

After 4 days of poker action at the sunny Cote d’Azur, local businessman Kevin Tedesco won the heads up battle against Jose Besalduch for €90,000 in the WPT National Main Event.

The 431 player field found its way down to 2 players and after a 30 minute heads up Kevin found [Kh] [Th] in the BB having a 3 times bigger stack than his opponent Jose Besalduch, who was holding [Ah] [8d ]. Jose raised to Kevin who packs out a 3bet which ends on a 4bet shove from Jose. After a short cogitation Kevin calls. The board reveals [4d] [2s] [3h] [3s] [Tc]! The river giving Kevin two pair and the win of WPTN Cannes.

Kevin Tedesco, who only plays poker as a hobby, managed to leave a big field of professional players behind him including WPT Champions Club member Guillaume Darcourt, PMU pro Romain Paon, PMU pro Erwann Pecheux , PMU pro Brian Benhamou, PMU pro Damien Lhommeau , Unibet Pro Quentin Leconte, PKR Pro Patty Baumier, WSOP Bracelet Winner Antonin Teisseine and much many, to score his biggest ever live cash.

Saturday night Les Marches opened its doors for a night to remember at the official WPT player’s party sponsored by Free drinks, a buzzing DJ and the beautiful view over the harbour in Cannes created a heated party atmosphere and players used the night to dance, drink and socialise off the the tournament floor.

2015 WSOP Day 6: Hyper Champ Crowned, First 10K Final Table, Le Goes for Back-To-Back

Day 6 of the 2015 World Series of Poker saw John Reading win gold in the $ 1,000 Hyper Hold’em event and the first $ 10,000 buy-in event’s final table reached.

Zinno Continues to Chase WPT History

Day 2 of the WPT Amsterdam Main Event at the Holland Casino has ended with 65 players still clinging to the hope that they will be a WPT Champions Club member. 341 entrants created a total prize pool of €992,310.

The man who will lead the field when we return for Day 3 will be Joep van der Bijgaart. He bagged up 438,000 chips, after firing four bullets, and leads a series of big stacks including Barrie Pietersz (367,500), Giacomo Fundaro (312,000), Jason Wheeler (278,000) and Guy Goosens (271,500).

Other notables still in with a chance of winning a WPT title are Scott Davies (215,000), Noah Boeken (69,500), Andrew Chen (61,000), David Yan (238,000), Sorel Mizzi (254,000) and WPT Champions Club member Giacomo Fundaro (312,000) The group of players who are in line to win four WPT titles is an exclusive one. There is nobody in it. Anthony Zinno bagged up 116,000 chips and will hope to fill that void. Players who were less fortunate include WPT Champions Club members Yevgeny Timoshenko and Dominik Nitsche.
